Welcome to 24 Hours of Moxie, the ultimate cross-country overland endurance challenge. This relentless 24-hour rally runs from the rugged northern tip of Maine to the New Hampshire border—entirely through the wild, untamed backwoods of the Northeast. No pavement. No easy outs. Just grit, skill, and the raw wilderness.
Teams will navigate deep forest corridors, forgotten logging roads, washed-out trails, mountain passes, and unpredictable terrain that only Maine’s backcountry can deliver. With minimal outside support and nonstop forward motion, drivers and co-drivers must rely on strategic planning, mechanical resilience, and steady nerves as they push through day, night, and whatever the wilderness throws at them.
The goal is simple: traverse the state off-road, keep your rig moving, and make it to New Hampshire before the clock runs out. The journey is grueling, the terrain unforgiving, and the satisfaction unmatched.
This is not a scenic cruise—it’s an endurance test of man, machine, and sheer Moxie.

Your journey begins where Maine meets Canada, at the far northern edge of the state. From there, you’ll carve your way southwest toward the New Hampshire border on routes you control. Every trail, every turn, and every terrain option is right at your fingertips in a live-updated OnX Off-Road folder.

This isn’t about being fastest—it's about being smartest. To score big, teams must dodge pavement, push their mileage, stay under the event-wide speed limit, and master the clock. You’ve got 24 hours to make your move across the state. In the end, the team with the most points claims the big prize.

Maines wooded wilderness is unpredictable, especially this time of year and the route you choose can make or break you. Expect anything from smooth logging corridors, washed out roads, muddy trails, small obstacles, and even the potential of snow. Nightfall comes early so power up those off road lights and power through to the finish.
Arrive at the northern outpost by 2 p.m. and make the most of the fading daylight to plot your strategy with your copilot and crew before settling in to cook dinner. Spend the evening swapping stories, relaxing by camp, and gearing up for tomorrow’s challenge.
Grab a hearty breakfast, pack up camp, and get yourself dialed in—because the real adventure kicks off today. Take a few final moments to double-check your gear, sync up with your team, and settle those pre-run jitters. Staggered team departures begin at 9 a.m., giving each crew its own launch window, and the final team will be rolling out by 10. Once you hit that trail, it’s game on.
Right at the New Hampshire border sits your finish line, where teams must complete their run within 24 hours of their staggered start between 9 and 10 a.m. When the last team checks in, we’ll total the scores and announce the winners. In the meantime, participants can relax, warm up, and enjoy a hot breakfast before heading home.
